"I'm really surprised by the negative comments. Battery life on mine is excellent (I plug it in every night). Downloading of music was easy using Samsung Kies software. I'm not proficient at texting, so am enjoying the physical keyboard."

"I don't know what's with all the gripes about this phone? I have had mine for about a week now and it's been great. The battery lasts about 3 days. I made sure to turn down the brightness to about a third of the max brightness (since full brightness is too bright) and that all the software (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc) are not checking for updates at all and it works fine.
As for the hardware. What do you expect for such a cheap phone? Be more realistic.
I don't have to remove the battery to get to the micro SD slot. It is on the side of the phone under the battery cover. However, I do have to remove the battery to get to the sim card but how many times will you have to do that?
The GPS is awesome on this phone. It picks up a signal within 15 seconds (outside and away from wifi). Blows my old LG Optimus One out of the water (it constantly drops the GPS signal and it takes about 2 minutes to pick up a signal).
I also like how you can fully customize the home screen (I think that's what you call it). You can have as many home screens as you want. Once you reach the last one and you flick to the right it will go back to the first one again. Great design there.
I don't like the light grey color around the phone though. Such a bland color to me."

"Love the phone, works great, great features but I have been unable to find any kind of custom protection for the screen! Tried a generic and "give me a break" how can you cut to fit and have it still look good? If this phone does not have the accessories as an option it should have it as a part of the package deal. I still like this phone but I guess you have to be able to afford an i-phone if you want any custom accessories."

"Nice for my first I phone. Easy to use. But I would of liked to have been told that it does not support abobe flash player so some sites you will not be able to view. The flash player that the phone does support doesn't work on these sights. I still like my phone and will probably keep it for quite a while still."

"This phone is very compact and portable, the slide out keyboard makes texting and websurfing easy. However the screen will lock up sometimes and I have to hit the "home" key multiple times to unfreeze it, sometimes losing information in the process. It's also too easy to accidentally enter speaker mode or mute mode on the phone and the battery life is very short. However for a basic cell phone it's fine."

"This phone may not be as high tech as some of the newer models of Galaxy phones, BUT this is the best phone I have owned to date. I love the fact that I can use the onscreen or the slide out keypad. I love the fact that I can keep all of my contacts and memo's and appointments in one place. My Q was inexpensive and purchased outright. I have loved it since the day I bought it."

"I've used this since January 2013, and it's been great so far. the sound quality is the best feature of the phone; and if you think of it - that's the most important part of any cellphone. There's more to it than that, the touchscreen experience is just as good as any other Samsung phone, and the Qwerty slider helps negate the average screen size. Texting is, thus, made easy. The microsd slot allows upto 32gb, which is excellent for apps and games. The web experience is average, but considering the size of the phone - it's more than enough. All's well with the Galaxy Ace Q!"

"This phone is fairly basic for a smart phone, it isn't as fast as better models, but it does what it needs to do and it works fine for my needs. However, if you're the type of person that is glued to your phone 24/7 and would have a complete meltdown if you had to go without it for 10 minutes, then this may not be the phone for you. I have noticed that I need to charge it every day or every other day, but only after I upgraded my plan and started using the data package."

"Battery doesnt last and if I plug it in, I have to "babysit" it because a screen will pop up very hour saying "battery disconnected please plug in your charger". It might lasta day IF I do nothing - like talk or text. If I do use it as a communication device ...it needs recharging in less than 24 hours."

"Basic phone that will satisfy casual to light users. Average 3 Mpx camera without flash, no built-in Chinese input (you must download a separate app to have that capability). Non intuitive menus and impossible to configure intermediate settings without googling. Using the tiny touch screen is like acrobatics. To insert a microsd, you must remove the cover and battery first.
However the phone does have all the basic function and tools you need. The sliding keyboard makes sending sms a breeze. Phone fits in a small pocket. My verdict: a good phone for that price."

Cons: slow processor, battery lasts around a day, low specs

"After two weeks of using the phone I noticed that after night recharging by noon phone reported exhausted battery. No apps are running on a phone and I do not talk much - 3-4 short conversation per day. In the store sale person found out no replacement batteries are available in Toronto because the phone model is too new (his explanation) and wait time to get them is 2-3 weeks.
This is frustrating because I have to recharge a NEW phone 3 times per day if I want to use it."

"I suspect that the earlier distribution of this phone is different from the later. My ace q has a battery that only last 4 to 5 hours and has to be recharged 3 time a day My wife's ace q purchased later last 2 to three days and I might add that these times are without using the phones at all. Sent it back to Samsung and as expected it works fine as far as they are concerned , of course it does if you have a battery charger with you at all times"

"Altho I like this phone, especially the sliding keyboard, all positives are wiped out by the extremely poor battery. Like others, my battery lasts from morning till dinner and that is with me doing a 1/2 dozen texts and taking 1 or 2 calls. The hassle is very grating and ruins the enjoyment of the phone."

"The battery do not last very long. I start it in the morning fully recharged and I'm not even able to last all the day. If I'm having just some call for a total of last than 15 minute talking, even with no apps running, the battery doesn't last all the day !!! Very poor battery."

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"There is really nothing good I have to say about this phone. The battery never lasts the day, if I use the phone for anything, the battery doesn't last past lunch. There is no radio (I really don't demand a lot of features, but I would have liked this one!) When I play music, the sound interrupts, and there is no speaker, so you can only listed through headphones. The touch screen has trouble responding, and you cannot choose what what you want to sync (although this might be the OS) so if I want to update my Google calendar, all of my gmail contacts are imported into my contacts. I exchanged the phone because of the battery issue, but will never buy a Samsung product again... terrible..."
Cons: Poor quality, there is actually nothing good about this phone.

"We've had it for two weeks. It's charged at night, then in morning, message is" battery critically low". This is not acceptable in a new phone. We are definitely returning it for something else."

"The battery life was often less than 8 hours even on standby. It even went dead over night when the phone was off. I tried 3 batteries and 2 phones and the problem still happened. The battery consumption graph would show unexplained rapid drops while on stand by."

"had it for 2 days charged it 4 times. hooked up to kies and tells me all the apps i downloaded are not supported to my phone. not that i could use them cause the phone dies. taking it back to telus tommorrow. thought a smartphone would be a nice upgrade in 2112 turns out my dumbphone was better. it was a samsung also thats why i had confidence buying a new samsung. i hope someone does something to help or this thing is a skipping stone into the st. lawrence river."
